Very sad news. Excellent broadcaster. The tribute shows on radio 2 that were planned this Easter will be very poignant now.

Great broadcaster. Sounds of the 60s was superb. He must have met all the big names in the 1960s.

I actually agreed that he should retire. But the way it was done was improper.
Brian had an unassuming style that was right for 'Sounds Of The 60s'. He made it an interesting show, and an easy listen.
Tony Blackburn is good, but his style as now imposed is not right for the show - Brian did it best.
RIP Brian Mathew.
