Sad day for purists of the game when it wasn't run as a corporate money making machine. Ronnie epitomized what was right about the game, not afraid to give pampered players a kick up the @rse regardless of their reputation. I think a lot of modern day dressing rooms could do with him to remind the players of their duty to the club, the badge and the fans.

A Liverpool legend but beneath that affable exterior there was a determined and ruthless streak. He was very much part of the boot room and played an essential part in the club's success of the 70's and 80's.

Like a traditional headmaster, you probably hated him at times as a player, but looking back, realise he always had your respect and admiration.

I'm not a fan of Liverpool, but you have to admire the club from when SHankly took over until the day Dalglish resigned and of which Moran was a huge part of the success of all the managers as part of the famous 'Boot Room'. I think every club had a ROnnie Moran type figure who would bleed for the club, loyalty such as what he showed showed Liverpool over the years will never be seen again.
A sad day for football.
RIP

The Liverpool Boot Room from Bill Shankly, through Bob Paisley and on to Joe Fagan organised the most successful club in Europe and Ronnie Moran was right at the heart of it all the way through.

It was lovely to see the crowd putting up the Bugsy cards before the match. A touching tribute.
