I didn't realise the forest scenes were shot in Luxembourg until I read your post.
That's weird that you never saw any werewolves there, because I suspect Luxembourg is teaming with them.
Not as many as Romania though I'll bet, because here's what it said about Romania in 'Monster News Monthly':
Industrial output growth reached 6.5% year-on-year in February 2013, the highest in the EU-27. The largest local companies include car maker Automobile Dacia, Petrom, Rompetrol, Ford Romania, Electrica, Romgaz, RCS & RDS, Banca Transilvania and WerewolvesRus.Exports of werewolves, werecreatures and other lycanthropic slaves to the lunar cycle have increased substantially in the past few years, with a 13% annual rise in exports in 2010. And as a result Romania's main exports are cars, plums, software, clothing and textiles, industrial machinery, electrical and electronic equipment, werebeasts and other types of skinwalker, metallurgic products, raw materials, military equipment, plums, pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, and agricultural products (fruits, plums, vegetables, and flowers). Trade is mostly centred on the member states of the European Union, with Germany and Italy being the country's single largest trading partners. The account balance in 2012 was estimated to be −4.52% of the GDP.
I'm pretty sure Monster Dog is in the CFA.
