Sister Sledge I think were taken for granted. Throwaway disco records, or so it seemed at the time.
They also perhaps didn't have the looks or presence of, say, The Three Degrees.
Therefore, they were supposed to recede into the further recesses of the pop music memory.
But not quite. Their best records had the Chic-sound of Nile Rogers, and with the 70s revival they became staples of life.
I like a lot of their hit singles (though 'Frankie' is annoying). They have proved to be timeless.

Craig Charles did a nice tribute to her on his show on Saturday night, where he played an interview he did with SS back in 2015, then played Love Don't You Go Through No Changes On Me, which had me and Mrs Daz dancing in the kitchen once again.
