Tucker's Luck, was a Drama series, which followed the exploits of Peter 'Tucker' Jenkins (Todd Carty) and his former classmates (from Grange Hill), Alan Humphries (George Armstrong) and Tommy Watson (Paul McCarthy), after they had left school, there were three series of Tucker's Luck, shown by the BBC, from 1983-1985, I can remember enjoying watching the series, at the time, Peter Childs, played Mr Humphries (father of Alan), in the first series of Tucker's Luck, the series, can be seen on YouTube.
There is a website, on the internet, dedicated to Tucker's Luck.
Interestingly in this first episode Peter Childs's part is also on Rycott's patch too - this location is Bosworth Road W10, which is straight out of Minder 6.2 'Life In The Fast Food Lane' and not far from East Row which features in 5.9 'Around The Corner'.
There is plenty of Tucker's Luck mentioned in TV TOPS magazine. With Peter Childs in this, I might just have to give it another watch very soon.

Daley & McCann are, as good as, holding hands, on the exercise yard, in the scrubs.
Just discovered that Tucker's Luck is available on Youtube. I used to love this show - especially series 2 - when it was on in the 80s. Haven't seen any eps since the late 80s at least. I shall be watching them again very soon! Being of more or less exactly the same age, I left school in 1981, this series really resonated with me and I just so wanted to be Tucker Jenkins at the time. And Lewis Collins, of course! As I say, series 2 stood head and shoulders above the other two and was comparable to Phil Redmond's other leaving-school drama, 'Going Out'. I remember series 3 being a bit of a disappointment. Great to hear Alan Hawkshaw's theme again.
Can't wait to delve back into this and relive the early 1980s. Mind you, there are parts that I'd like to NOT relive... but that's another story!!!!
(Looking forward to the season two ep where Alan joins a band! Yes, a more unlikely pop star (or rock star) one cannot begin to imagine! Danny Webb makes an appearance in one episode, credited as Daniel Webb, as the leader of a 'rival' band, called 'Exocet Missile' - "Not a very nice name," as Tucker comments, this being in the wake of the Falklands war, etc.)
"What are you two, some kind of music hall act?" "Whatever we are..." "...you made us!" "TA-DAA!!"
I thought Tuckers Luck was a great programme. I remember the last episode, when it basically left it open that he went on a date with Trisha Yates! Later that evening, I’m sure 8 watched “Gregory’s Girl” for the first time - very early 1985?..
The first two episodes of Grange Hill are legendary, the next couple were very good, too. I remember when they started showing them again on Sunday mornings in 1993. I videoed loads of them, and watched a lot of them -avidly some years later, with faint memories of the original showings in the late 70’s
