I can recall a few years ago (possibly 12!) BBC2 briefly showed some old programmes about youths, I recall one was called "THE BANKY" it was in colour and about 2 young blokes who went down to the seaside for a bank holiday.
The next week (or may have been the week before) they showed a black and white programe called Terry. A young Dennis Waterman played the title role, and it was about a school leaver named Terry and all the jobs that he went through! I can recall it started with Dennis saying "my name is Terry" then painting the name Terry on the wall behind him.
I also remember a clip of the same programme being show on "T.V HEAVEN" in 1990/91, yet IMDB has not got this listed under Dennis waterman's acting roles!
The shows belonged to a strand of dramas for BBC education called 'Scene' which was celebrating 25 years around that time (1992/93). You used to be able to get scripts from these by writing to the BBC. Some of them were really good.
I watched Terry, this afternoon, quite a good short Drama, apart from Dennis Waterman, other familiar names, among the cast - Bill Owen, Reginald Marsh (who appeared in one of my favourite Minder episodes - Goodbye Sailor) and Ronald Hines, a shame that Terry, can no longer be seen on YouTube.
I can remember seeing Buddy, a 5 part Drama series (which was part of the BBC Scene, series), at School, in the 1980's.
