Got this picture recently, a Rediffusion publicity photograph from 'A Man of Our Times'. I've never seen it and it looks like it hasn't been broadcast since the late 1960s. There is very little information about it online although the obituary of George Cole in the Guardian said:
"His choice of parts was often self-limiting – he once turned down Othello – but for ITV he was more adventurous in A Man of Our Times (1968), a series in which a middle-aged man is faced with a dilemma: accept redundancy or a lower status with his firm. It won him a wide audience, good notices and a great deal of personal satisfaction."
Looking at some of the online discussions about it, it is said that 5 of the 13 episodes have been lost. There are also allegedly disputes over the exploitation of the Rediffusion back catalogue. But I would have thought this was due a release on dvd, at least what is left.
