We had a fairly long thread on this elsewhere. This was a failed ITC pilot for a TV Series that never happened. It starred the world's dullest actor Chad Everett (Kenny would have been better ) as intrepid fire insurance investigator Quentin Barnaby .
If you can't guess who the villain is straight away then I give up all hope.
Chad's fashions in this are really good for a laugh, I will post some pics up later.
Filming commenced on 26th February 1970. It was originally titled 'Cause for Alarm', presumably the title of a Lew Grade memo when he saw the first rushes and witnessed how dull his leading man was.
It used to be shown frequently on Sunday afternoons on Central in the 80s. I guessed the culprit straight away. I remember it had an attractive woman in it. I thought she was the best thing about the film. I found out her name is Anjanette Comer.
Not heard if this but if you compare photos 2 and 4 above it looks like the "I touch your moobs if you touch my b00bs" show.
Looks like it's worth a punt.
It is worth watching but you really do have to tune out Chad Everett's dull performance and the obvious whodunnit. This failed pilot has high production values and it is hilarious to see Roy Kinnear in some hilarious clothes.
