Having watched 'Look Back in anger' this afternoon, a shout out has to go to Mary Ure. A blonde from Glasgow who appeared in this film alongside another stunner from yesteryear who I have already mentioned in this thread called Claire Bloom, both of whom looked stunning.
Mary was the ex wife of the play write John Osborne and later the actor Robert Shaw, with whom she had four children with, but sadly she died at the age of just 42 in tragic circumstances.
Hard to believe that it's now exactly 10 years (25th June, 2009) since Farrah Fawcett passed away.
When I was at school (circa 1979), I had a huge poster of her on my bedroom wall. It wasn't the famous 'swimsuit' poster, but one that was equally as nice. Many, many, many years later, I found an identical one on ebay - original stock from about 1977, still rolled up in its plastic wrapping. I bought it and had it framed. Unfortunately, after 30+ years, the creases from it being rolled up wouldn't come out. Still, it helped to give it that vintage feel. She hung on my living room wall for several years and now resides (temporarily one hopes) in mum and dad's garage. Out of sight, but not out of mind. Cheers Farrah. R.I.P.
"What are you two, some kind of music hall act?" "Whatever we are..." "...you made us!" "TA-DAA!!"
I STILL have my original Farrah posters from 1977. I left loads of stuff in Hong Kong, but the posters made it back to blighty. Got THAT red swimsuit poster as well. The genuine ones ALL had a printed autograph on the bottom right. Great memories!
