Based on a true story, this was a very well acted, gritty and heartfelt drama which I watched last night. Both James Nesbitt and Phil Davis were very good as the bereaved father and relentless detective desperate to seek justice for a murdered youngster. The crime took place on a very rough and nasty estate and potential witnesses were afraid to give evidence due to what could happen to them especially the girlfriend of one of the killers. The courtroom scenes were intense and Stephanie Leonidas was convincingly uncompromising in her portrayal of the reluctant female witness.
"What was I thinking of, hitting him? Nothing. No, I know. I hate him! I hate his guts, I hate everything he stands for with his PACE and his plus and his statements of purpose and his smiling at the punters and his have a nice day! I mean when was the last time he ever nicked anybody, eh? A real villain! When was the last time he ever put himself on the line?"
