One of my favourite TV shows of all time.
One of my friends was actually responsible for reuniting Roger Moore with the Bermuda yellow Aston Martin and watched him sign the inside of the boot lid. This was at Pinewood studios. He has some funny stories to tell - including some references to Mr Wiseman. I saw Roger Moore in Nottingham a couple of years ago on his 'an Evening with...' tour. He was great, very funny and eloquent - they showed some clips from The Persuaders! to kick off the 2nd half. I am currently working my way, slowly, through the Network Special Edition DVD set. Somewhere I've got an original 70mm colour neg of Roger, Tony and Rupert the Bear! I found it at the bottom of a box of UFO/Space:1999 photos. But that's another story...
(And it's DEFINITELY ONE olive and not two!!!)

Two episodes watched yesterday on different Sat channels. Just fantastic escapist television, especially when a freezing cold day and a sick kid off school and not much else to do.
DO you reckon it was as fun to make as it comes across on the TV?

Yes, unless you were called Joan Collins. That was the second episode I watched yesterday. Was there an issue with her? Lets just say that her and Tony didn't see eye to eye..........

He described her using another part of her anatomy - it certainly wasn’t her eye

IIRC she wasn't able to get a scene right in one take.

That interview is from the Dick Cavett Show. He hosted several tv shows starting in the late 1960s. He used to have some interesting guests and group discussion about serious events at times. Cavett was good because he obviously knew about his guests even when he was meeting them for the first time and most importantly he listened to his guests and didn't just work off a list of prearranged talking points as so many so called talk show hosts do past and present. Here in the US the digital cable channel Decades runs some of his old shows. This interview with Roger Moore is great! What a classy gentlemen!

David Bowie appeared on the Cavett show in 1974 around the time of Young Americans and when his cocaine use was at its height. It’s an ‘interesting’ watch

Currently showing on a channel in the UK called Movies 4 Men. Also, just noticed that Spec Savers do a pair of glasses called... WILDE! And guess what... they are very '70s. Very Danny Wilde. Luckily for me I have bad eyesight so I shall be getting these as my next pair. Also look a bit like the ones Hank Marvin was wearing in the mid '70s. www.specsavers.co.uk/glasses/wilde?sku=30474611&qb-t001-mens&qb-t001-mens

A competitor to The Geoff Love Orchestra back in the 1970s was Jack Parnell, who did this slightly slower version of 'The Persuaders' theme for I think (a 1974 or 1975?) TV TIMES themes album:
Love it, but not as much this one, which is very 'Adventurer':

Sorry to drift off topic but what is the current situation regarding 'Vendetta', another website lists around 6 or possibly seven episodes exist - let's hope it is the George Cole one

The Innocent Man was recovered a couple of years ago after a print was listed on eBay and Kaleidoscope either bought it or obtained it somehow after it sold for nearly £800.

TV TIMES themes album: Yes, my parents had that album. Unfortunately, I found that it lacked the bite of the original themes. That is a characteristic of these albums. The tracks are re-recorded at a slower tempo than on the original TV theme.

Loved the clothes. It was definitely of its time. "Mmm, I used to wear clobber like that". Now there's a confession.
Add the Aston and Ferrari Dino and it is memorable.

'The Persuaders!' definitely featured the best on screen chemistry of any ITC Series. Curtis and Moore together were unbeatable.

I’m trying to work out who that is in the bow tie standing behind Tony Curtis Without wanting to drift off topic, you should ask Arch Stanton, it looks like just the sort of boat he'd have 'round Stanton Hall for canapés and bruschetta at one of his savoury butter reception suarees.

Right now I am watching the compilation movie Mission: Monte Carlo. For some reason it is in black and white but the picture quality is very good. It's like watching it on a black and white TV. My copy is part of a Region 1 budget release that also contains the compilations London Conspiracy and Sporting Chance. London Conspiracy is also in monochrome but I don't remember if the other one is.

What are you watching it on if it is in b/w? An old b/w TV set?
