Oh that is so sad. A very talented actor indeed. One of Wales' most respected thesps. He will always be Roj Blake for me. A childhood hero of mine.
RIP Gareth.

Fair play he's done a fair bit over the years. Never really into Blakes 7 and probably know him best for all the other TV roles he did.
RIP

Also known for 'Children of the Stones' (1977). Cult classic.

I only found out this morning, when the radio was playing the B7 theme and i wondered why, then they announced he had passed away. I sold all my blake's seven dvds, audios and books on EBAY when I was out of work for a couple of months, in 2014.

Sorry to read this. He was very good as Blake and made what could have been a cliched hero interesting. I always enjoyed his verbal sparring with Paul Darrow's Avon.
He also appears for a few seconds in the opening scenes of the movie Quatermass and the Pit (aka Five Million Years To Earth)
Rest In Peace Mr. Thomas

Another part of my childhood gone. Loved Blake's 7 as a kid. Children of the Stones was a good 'un as well. RIP Mr Thomas - a very fine actor.
