I'm not at all familiar with Richard Bradford or Douglas Wilmer, and as they got a thread, it only seemed right Ms Rayne gets a mention.
Pretty sure some here might be 'familiar' with her work. Let's just say she had a big following.
Without upsetting the mods, Google her yourself if you feel that way inclined.

I have heard of her and regardless of how she earned her fame she was a popular entertainer in her field and 31 is no age whatsoever to pass.
RIP

I find it extremely sad, the mortality rate in that particular profession.. Usually overdoses or disease. Not that I'm saying that's so in Ms Rayne's case... I guess we'll find out after the autopsy.
31! Sad times. RIP.

The 1997 film, Boogie Nights, which portrayed the p0rn industry of 1977 and featured Burt Reynolds in a notable comeback, featured a female lead character called Amber Waves.
I wonder if Ms Rayne, of whom I had never heard until last week, took her name from the film's character? It seems likely.

Probably right. I know a lot of the stars copyright their name so some up-and-coming (no pun intended) can't ponce from it. I think Tracy Lords and Seka are often copied i.e., Traci Lord, Tracii Lordz, Seeka etc.

I think Tracy Lords and Seka are often copied i.e., Traci Lord, Tracii Lordz, Seeka etc. They were huge names though, so you can see why! It's hardly the most discreet industry. The stars often have multiple names anyway. Traci Lords was the original 80s one wasn't she? I'm sure her name is spelt with an 'i'??

You are quite correct, the same one who single-handlely crippled the industry.

You are quite correct, the same one who single-handlely crippled the industry. Yeah that was a bit of a weird situation. Wasn't it proved she was under age for some of her 'performances'? Hadn't she lied, provided false documents, then it came out (instigated by her?) years later when she was one of the most famous stars?! Three was a load of court cases and the industry disowned her didn't it? She did some mainstream stuff too. Bit like that other heavy hitter (and 'New Wave Hooker'), Ginger Lynn Allen.

Californian law said she was under-aged, despite being of legal age in other US states. You are right, falsified ID from her as well. A determined lady. Saw her in mainstream film, Cry Baby (with Johnny Depp) lets just say she was a better actress in her, ahem, previous films.

Not that I'm saying she was any good mind...a bit flat sounding as I recall.

Yes I seem to remember that, mid 90s? Which single was it? This one called 'Little Baby Nothing' from 1992's Generation Terrorists: Sing along a Manics: No one likes looking at you Your lack of ego offends male mentality They need your innocence To steal vacant love and to destroy Your beauty and virginity used like toys My mind is dead, everybody loves me Wants a slice of me Hopelessly passive and compatible Need to belong, oh the roads are scarey So hold me in your arms I wanna be your only possession Used, used, used by men Used, used, used by men All they leave behind is money Paper made out of broken twisted trees Your pretty face offends Because it's something real that I can't touch Eyes, skin, bone, contour, language as a flower No god reached me, faded films and loving books Black and white TV All the world does not exist for me And if I'm starving, you can feed me lollipops Your diet will crush me My life just an old man's memory Little baby nothing Loveless slavery, lips kissing empty Dress your life in loathing Breaking your mind with Barbie Doll futility Little baby nothing Sexually free, made-up to breakup Assassinated beauty Moths broken up, quenched at last The vermin allowed a thought to pass them by You are pure, you are snow We are the useless sl*ts that they mould Rock 'n' roll is our epiphany Culture, alienation, boredom and despair You are pure, you are snow We are the useless sl*ts that they mould Rock 'n' roll is our epiphany Culture, alienation, boredom and despair

Hmm, well, rest in peace alright, but to be honest I am not too upset about it as she not exactly made huge impacts on society thru her "work"....

Not heard of her. I have led a sheltered life. Nonetheless, very sad at such a tender age. What a waste
