I do recall this, i think i only saw one episode, I was about 8 at the time, but I can remember they all went off on a coach trip and a boy said "we're going to the seaside, as to him, a river was the seaside! he climbed along a chain that was sort of hanging over the river and his mum told him to get down. I also recall there was an old lady on the coach who said to two blokes "are there any twos?" he said "loos?" she said "no! TWOS! seats with two seats facing!
My memory for pointless details really shocks me at times!
As I have not seen this since 1984, and only really remember the name, I just sat down and watched episode 2 of this uninterrupted on YT - called 'Now Ollie's Gone'.
Hmm, a strange one this - in fairness I didn't laugh once but it was more than okay to watch. Nevertheless, there were some humorous moments for me - Artro Morris as Taff being the main source of humour. He plays the head of the (what seems to be) pub fishing club. Brian and Perce also drink in the pub and are also in the club, who have regular competitions.
Brian (title character) seems to have no luck whatsoever and Perce is just a nuisance character. There was a funny scene where all of them are in the local fishing shop but don't want to buy anything through fear of giving away their trade secrets as there is a fishing contest looming.
Two new blokes have joined the club but Perce doesn't trust them. Meanwhile Brian's wife is having far more luck selling nick nacks down the market.
Very few laughs but I would watch another to try and get into it a bit more. It reminded me a little of 'Outside Edge' only about fishing - but that was funnier based on this one episode I've seen.

Daley & McCann are, as good as, holding hands, on the exercise yard, in the scrubs.
I haven't seen it since 1984. Central hoped it would be as big a hit as AWP as it was in the same 9.00 Friday night slot but it never hit the same heights and only lasted one series. It was unfavourably compared to AWP but it probably wouldn't have been made if AWP hadn't been a success.
