I thought it was bizarre that the Uranus probe had so many men and women aboard it? Nice to see the half naked women indeed but apart from Dr.Cabot Rowland, Capt.Jack Tanner, Ted, Freda, Valerie Leon, I counted at least twelve more Thulians in the episode!!! So what space mission ever had twenty odd members? And of those twenty Rowland mentioned that some had died! I wonder if the wild animals on Thule also were also of the immortal breed? JB
Well apart from eating a whole packet of Breakaways, I sat in the conservatory (under an almost full moon) last night and listened to one of the CDs from the Year 2 soundtrack set from Fanderson. Totally different to the music from Year 1, but Derek Wadsworth wrote in a style that suited Y2 and there's plenty of prog/jazz fusion and spacey sounding synths. The Moon was still there at 3.30 this morning, by the way, so September 13th passes again, without incident, for another year...
"What are you two, some kind of music hall act?" "Whatever we are..." "...you made us!" "TA-DAA!!"
Production on the series started in late 1973. Filming of Breakaway began on December 3 1973 and took 23 days finishing on January 11, 1974. Some reshooting was done before filming of Black Sun started in late January 1974.
A Matter of Life And Death was the first completed episode I believe which is weird as it's the second episode in most chronologies! JB
That sort of thing is not uncommon with TV shows in general or with Science Fiction shows. The Corbomite Manuever was the first regular episode of Star Trek to be filmed but other episodes aired before it did.
